Function

Role Summary 
 

·        Coordinate and manage all hydrotesting activities including pretest line walks, flushing, pressure testing, chemical cleaning, draining and air blow, flange management,                               reinstatement, and more. 

·        Ensure that hydrotesting/flushing equipment is regularly and properly maintained throughout the duration of the project, contributing to high-quality work and smooth project                     completion.

·        Effectively communicate with client representatives, office engineering teams, and site teams to ensure timely progression of all site activities.

·        Ensure all work sites are left clean and safe upon job completion.

·        Actively participate in daily onsite toolbox talks, ensuring a thorough understanding of the scope of work and awareness of any changes to the work or worksite.

·        Ensure appointed hydrotesting/flushing technicians perform their duties in accordance with the guidelines and all applicable site standards and requirements.

·        Maintain and analyze test boundaries/limits, testing vents and drains, barricading affected zones with proper signage, and meeting all necessary requirements.

·        Collaborate with multi-discipline leads to integrate hydrotesting activities across the full project spectrum and provide technical support assistance.

·        Independently evaluate, organize, and prioritize work, which is typically subject to internal checking and approval.

·        Coordinate subcontractors for additional activities such as swinging/blanking of test spools, scaffolding erection and dismantling, and third-party N2He testing required before                       proceeding  with hydrotesting activities.

·        Develop and maintain the Testpack register in accordance with project specifications, updating information daily and being prepared to hand over to Operations/Crew before vessel               departure.

·        Notify non-conformances identified during site inspections and recommend corrective measures to the Foreman/Engineer from the respective yard through the QA/QC Manager. 

 

Accountabilities
 

·        Responsible for ensuring all work adheres to the company’s hydrotesting and flushing procedures, utilizing appropriate tools during testing/flushing, and maintaining proper                         documentation as required. 

·        Conduct identification of correct test boundary limits according to the latest P&ID markup, ISOs, pipe support details, testing medium, and test pressure as per the line list and                     approved construction standards for piping.

·        Coordinate with the flange management coordinator regarding flanges that require swinging/blinding off for testing according to the test limit.

·        Participate in and follow up on technical audits within the area of responsibility as necessary.

·        Proactively identify critical activities daily to facilitate improvements in quality, productivity, and safety.

·        Collaborate with various departments and disciplines to resolve hydrotesting-related issues to maximize efficiency and determine the proper sequence of commissioning activities.

·        Provide feedback and suggestions on operational difficulties, access issues for systems and processes identified onsite, for corrective or improvement actions.

·        Contribute to knowledge transfer and the development of new methods, recommending improvements to all hydrotesting activities.

·        Request assistance from discipline resources within the area of responsibility as needed to maintain quality and progress.

·        Ensure the requirements for the storage, preparation, maintenance, and calibration of testing pumps, pressure recorders, hoses, and pressure gauges are met for their safe use.

·        Generate weekly summary reports indicating the planning of hydrotesting, flushing, chemical cleaning, air blow, and reinstatement activities.

·        Report any delays in the progression of engineering deliverables by the contractor for the project scope to the construction manager.

·        Oversee piping reinstatement, installation of control valves (PV, FV, SDV, BDV), check valves, thermowells, rupture discs, manual valves, TG, PG, PSV, and PRV; liaise with other                    disciplines to clear outstanding punches before reinstatement activities and update them in the PIMS database.

·        Sign relevant MCCRs in PIMS according to the work order related to hydrotesting activities.

·        Perform other duties as required by the discipline lead and construction manager.

 

 

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience
 

·        Possess a Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma or bachelor’s degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering, or equivalent extensive experience to                     compensate for formal education. 

·        Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Piping Supervisor or Site Engineer within FPSO/FSO, drilling platforms, or shipyards.

·        Proficient knowledge of ASME B31.3 and API 5L standards.

·        Demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills applicable to a multidisciplinary project team.

·        Excellent problem-solving abilities and persuasive communication skills.

·        Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

·        Advanced computer proficiency with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and PIMS).

·        Recent relevant experience in Middle Eastern or Southeast Asian shipyards is advantageous.

·        Strongly desired recent experience in modification projects and/or FPSO redeployment.

·        Proven track record of managing large-scale projects in the Marine industry, leading teams, and possessing pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing expertise.

·        Relevant experience in North Sea project execution is advantageous.

·        Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a multi-tasking environment, meet tight deadlines, follow through on commitments, and take necessary actions promptly.
